Over the past 50 years, The Blue Bird Auxiliary has been a major benefactor to Methodist Hospital at the Medical Center. Members have contributed millions of hours and dollars to assist our patients and their families. In recent years, the Blue Birds have extended financial support to community organizations.
In 2010, the following community grants were awarded:

$10,000 - Any Baby Can – provides a safety net for families with critically or chronically ill children.

$ 2,000 - Cattle Baron's Gala 2010

$20,000 - Children's Bereavement Center – resource center for helping children through the grieving process following the loss of a loved one.

$ 7,000 - Kinetic Kids – sports and recreational programs for special needs kids.

$ 2,000 - Make A Wish Foundation – grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses.

$10,000 - Methodist Mission Home – Sanctuary, guidance and training programs for individuals facing a variety of challenging circumstances.

$ 2,000 - Ribbons of Hope – Women’s Cancer Event

$15,000 - Shriner’s Hospital – specialty pediatric care at no cost to the family.

$18,000 - Spina Bifida Texas – support for children and families affected by Spina Bifada in Central and South Texas.

$ 5,000 - Transplants for Children – Assistance to young organ and tissue transplant recipients and their families.
Support to the Methodist Healthcare System:

$10,000 – Methodist Healthcare System Bereavement Programs.

$25,300 - Methodist Hospital Case Management – Pediatric Units.

$ 6,000 – Methodist Hospital Oncology Support.

$11,500 – Methodist Specialty & Transplant Hospital Theraputic Pillows.
The deadline for 2011 grant proposals is Friday, March 4, 2011. Grants are awarded annually on June 1st. Please download the following documents:
